Abstract

The need for commercial buildings such as houses and shop-houses has increased significantly. This study aims to analyze the effect of adding a shear wall on the structural performance of a shop-house building in the Citraland Sampali Project. The problem is focused on comparing the structural response to seismic loads before and after adding a shear wall based on pushover analysis. To approach this problem, theoretical references from SNI 1726:2019 on seismic resistance planning for buildings and the ATC-40 method for determining structural performance levels were used. Data were collected through field observation, technical building data from the developer, and a literature review of related journals and theses, then analyzed quantitatively using SAP2000 software. The results show that the structure without a shear wall produced a maximum displacement of 0.177016 m in the X direction and 0.152827 m in the Y direction, with story drift values of 0.011494 and 0.009923, while the structure with a shear wall produced displacements of 0.130567 m and 0.133305 m, with story drift values of 0.00847 and 0.00865. Both models fall within the Immediate Occupancy (IO) performance level according to ATC-40. This study concludes that adding a shear wall significantly increases lateral stiffness, reduces deformation, and optimizes the seismic performance of the shop-house structure compared to without a shear wall.
