Pengaruh literasi keuangan dan gaya hidup terhadap pengelolaan keuangan mahasiswa (Studi Kasus Program Studi Administrasi Bisnis Universitas Almuslim)
Abstract
Personal financial management is an important competency for university students because the college period represents a transition toward greater independence in making economic decisions. Students are required to allocate limited financial resources to various needs, including education, food, transportation, communication, social activities, entertainment, and other personal necessities. Under these conditions, financial literacy and lifestyle are considered important factors that may influence students’ ability to plan, allocate, control, and evaluate their financial resources. This study aims to examine the effect of financial literacy and lifestyle, both partially and simultaneously, on the financial management of Business Administration students at Almuslim University. The research employed a quantitative approach using questionnaires as the primary data collection instrument and multiple linear regression analysis processed with SPSS 25. Based on the available statistical output, the regression equation is Y = 2.924 + 0.610X1 + 0.309X2. Financial literacy has a regression coefficient of 0.610 with a significance value of 0.000, while lifestyle has a coefficient of 0.309 with a significance value of 0.002. Therefore, both variables have statistically significant partial effects on students’ financial management. Simultaneously, financial literacy and lifestyle significantly affect students’ financial management, as indicated by an F-statistic of 74.351 and a significance value of 0.000. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.727 indicates that 72.7% of the variation in students’ financial management can be explained jointly by financial literacy and lifestyle, while the remaining 27.3% is explained by other factors outside the research model. The findings emphasize that strengthening students’ financial knowledge should be accompanied by the development of responsible lifestyle patterns and spending control.
