Abstract

The Welcome Dance is a traditional dance that lives and develops in Muara Enim and functions in the ceremony of welcoming guests for honorable people who come and are visiting Muara Enim. Muara Enim Regency. No one knows who created the worship dance, because this traditional dance is the culture and art of the Kikim ethnic community around 400 years ago. The existence of the Kikim Ethnic cannot be separated from the worship dance, because the Kikim Ethnic is the growth and development of the creation of an art form in Muara Enim Regency. This dance, which is included in the artistic element, originates from oral stories passed down from generation to generation based on previous ancestral experiences. More or less around 1956, the worship dance was initiated again by Mr. M. Natar. At that time this dance had a very simple form of presentation in motion and accompaniment. This research aims to Y. Sumandiyo Hadi which contains the concept of motion as a basic element of choreography, the benefit of this research is to deepen the knowledge to study the concepts in motion in the development of this dance. So this researcher uses a quantitative approach by focusing on data collection.
