License

Journal Sport Science, Health and Tourism of Mandalika (JONTAK) supports the responsible dissemination and reuse of scholarly research in sport science, physical education, health, recreation, tourism, and related disciplines. This policy describes the licensing terms, copyright arrangements, and responsibilities associated with articles published in the journal.

Articles bearing the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) may be shared and adapted under the conditions described below. The license identified on an individual published article is the authoritative notice for that article.

  1. Creative Commons License

JONTAK uses the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) for articles carrying that license notice. The license permits readers to access, copy, distribute, and adapt the published material for non-commercial purposes, provided that the license conditions are respected.

The complete license terms are available at: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/. Users should consult the full legal code when determining whether a particular use is permitted.

  1. Permitted Use and Reuse

Under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license, users may, without requesting additional permission from the copyright holder:

  • Share the article by copying and redistributing it in any medium or format for non-commercial purposes.
  • Adapt the material by translating, transforming, or building upon it for non-commercial purposes.
  • Use and discuss the work in research, teaching, academic presentations, and other non-commercial scholarly activities, subject to the applicable license conditions.

These permissions do not remove obligations to acknowledge the source or comply with other conditions of the license.

  1. Conditions of the License

Anyone reusing material under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 must comply with the following requirements:

  • Attribution: Give appropriate credit to the author(s), identify JONTAK as the original publication venue, provide a link to the license, and indicate whether changes were made.
  • NonCommercial: Do not use the licensed material for purposes primarily intended for commercial advantage or monetary compensation without obtaining separate permission.
  • ShareAlike: Distribute adaptations under the same Creative Commons license or an officially compatible license.
  • No additional restrictions: Do not impose legal terms or effective technological measures that restrict others from exercising permissions granted by the license.

Attribution must not imply that the author(s) or JONTAK endorses a particular user, adaptation, product, or activity.

  1. Copyright and Publication Rights

Authors retain copyright in their original scholarly work, subject to any rights held by other parties in materials incorporated into the article. For articles published under this policy, authors grant JONTAK the non-exclusive right to publish, identify itself as the venue of first publication, disseminate the scholarly record, and preserve the published article.

The Creative Commons license governs reuse of the published material to which it applies. Publication in JONTAK does not transfer ownership of third-party copyrighted content to the journal or its authors. Any article-specific publishing agreement or different license notice must be respected.

  1. Author Sharing and Self-Archiving

Authors may share the published version of their articles on personal websites, institutional repositories, scholarly profiles, and other appropriate platforms, provided that they preserve the attribution and licensing information and acknowledge the initial publication in JONTAK.

Where available, authors should include the article title, names of the authors, journal title, publication year, DOI or permanent article URL, and a link to the applicable Creative Commons license. Sharing of preprints or earlier manuscript versions must also comply with the journal's submission and publication ethics policies.

  1. Third-Party Content and Research Materials

Figures, photographs, tables, instruments, maps, datasets, and other materials originating from third parties may have separate copyright, privacy, contractual, or ethical restrictions. Their inclusion in an article does not automatically mean that they are covered by the article's Creative Commons license.

Authors must obtain any necessary permissions before publication and clearly identify material that is excluded from the article's license. Readers wishing to reuse such material must follow the terms specified by the relevant rights holder, unless an applicable statutory exception permits the use.

  1. Commercial Use and Additional Permissions

The CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license does not authorize commercial reuse of licensed material. Anyone seeking to reproduce, adapt, or distribute an article for commercial purposes must obtain separate authorization from the appropriate copyright holder unless another legal basis permits the intended use.

The journal may facilitate contact with the author(s) when appropriate but cannot grant rights that it does not hold. Copyright permissions do not replace obligations concerning confidentiality, participant consent, privacy, or other applicable rights.

  1. License Identification and Compliance

The journal should display the applicable license and copyright notice on each published article page and, where practical, within the article file. License statements, article metadata, and journal policy pages should remain consistent so that readers can determine the terms governing reuse.

If discrepancies in licensing information are identified, authors and readers may contact the editorial office for clarification. The journal will examine the relevant article record and publishing agreement and take appropriate steps to correct any inaccurate notice. Reuse of any article remains subject to the valid license that applies to that work.
