PERBANDINGAN KEMAMPUAN GERAK LOKOMOTOR DAN MANIPULATIF DALAM PERMAINAN KOLO PADA SISWA KELAS VIII
Abstract
Traditional games are increasingly used as contextual media for assessing fundamental movement skills, but evidence on whether locomotor and object-control performance differs between intact junior high school classes in the Kolo game remains limited. This study compared the two movement domains in classes VIII A and VIII B at SMP Negeri 2 Lape. A quantitative, non-experimental descriptive-comparative design with cross-sectional data collection was employed. Forty students were purposively selected from a population of 42 students, with 20 participants in each class. Performance during standardized Kolo game sessions was scored using an analytical observation rubric comprising four locomotor and four object-control indicators on a four-point scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk test, Levene's test, an independent-samples t-test, the Mann-Whitney U test, and effect sizes. Class VIII B obtained a higher locomotor mean than class VIII A (80.88 vs. 77.40), and the difference was significant, t(38) = -2.178, p = .036, d = 0.69. Object-control means were 85.65 and 83.78, respectively, with no significant difference, U = 249.0, Z = 1.326, p = .180, r = .21. The between-class difference was therefore domain-specific. Physical education should prioritize differentiated locomotor tasks for the lower-performing class while maintaining progressive object-control challenges for both groups.
