MENGASAH FINISHING PEMAIN U-12: PERBANDINGAN SHOOTING AFTER DRIBBLING DAN SHOOTING AFTER PASSING TERHADAP AKURASI SHOOTING
Abstract
Shooting accuracy is an essential component of football finishing, particularly for U-12 players who are still developing basic technical coordination, body balance, first touch, and decision-making. This study compared the effectiveness of shooting after dribbling and shooting after passing training on the shooting accuracy of U-12 football players at SSB Piramid Praya Timur. A quasi-experimental two-group pretest-posttest design was used. Forty active U-12 players were selected through purposive sampling and divided into two groups of 20 players. Both groups completed a structured four-week program consisting of 12 training sessions. Shooting accuracy was measured using a modified target shooting test from 16.5 meters. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene homogeneity test, gain score comparison, and independent samples t-test at a 0.05 significance level. To strengthen the interpretation, the revised analysis emphasizes effect magnitude, practical relevance, and the limitation that random assignment and advanced control analysis such as ANCOVA require complete raw data. The shooting after dribbling group improved from 23.75 to 32.05, while the shooting after passing group improved from 24.65 to 33.25. The mean gain of the shooting after passing group was slightly higher (8.60) than the shooting after dribbling group (8.30). The data were normally distributed and homogeneous, and the group comparison indicated a significant difference (p < 0.001). These findings suggest that both training variations are useful for youth finishing practice, but shooting after passing provides a small practical advantage because it trains first touch, body orientation, timing, and shot direction after receiving a pass.
