Abstract

Education in early childhood is the foundation for the growth and development of children because at an early age the basic abilities or basic intelligence of children are formed. In carrying out learning activities in Early Childhood Education Institutions, it is necessary to have competence possessed by educators, one of the competencies that educators must have in supporting optimal growth and development in children is pedagogic competence. Pedagogic competence is the ability to manage students, which includes understanding insights or educational foundations, understanding students, curriculum/syllabus development, learning plans, implementing educative and dialogical learning, evaluating learning outcomes, and developing students' potential actualization. The problems that occur in institutions are due to the low pedagogic competence of teaching and learning strategies, the ability of educators to design learning tools according to the needs of students is still low, the concepts of scientific fields are not in line with the needs of institutions. Based on these various problems, research was carried out to improve pedagogical abilities to improve the growth and development of children in early childhood institutions. Based on this, this study obtained the result that teacher competency increased with various strategies, namely participating in various trainings, seminars, workshops or training, conducting studies appeal, and further study.
