Abstract
The use of gadgets in early childhood is increasing along with the rapid development of digital technology. Although gadgets can provide educational benefits if used appropriately, excessive and unsupervised use can have negative impacts on children's cognitive, social, and emotional development. This study aims to examine the impact of gadget use on early childhood and the role of parents in controlling and directing such use. The method used is a literature study from various relevant sources, including scientific journals, articles, and current research reports. The results of the study indicate that excessive use of gadgets has the potential to cause speech delays, impaired concentration, and reduced social interaction in children. On the other hand, the active involvement of parents in limiting usage time, choosing appropriate content, and accompanying children when using gadgets has been shown to minimize these negative impacts. Therefore, the role of parents is very crucial in creating a healthy pattern of gadget use for early childhood.
