THE EFFECT OF GIVING JAVA TAMARIND STEW ON THE INTENSITY OF DYSMENORRHEA IN ADOLESCENT GIRLS AT SMAN 1 SUKAMULIA

Abstract

Dysmenorrhea can affect a person’s productivity because it interferes with daily activities. Menstrual pain is subjective so that everyone has different assessments. The greater the intensity of the pain, the more potentially interfere with daily activities. The management of nonpharmacology to reduce dysmenorrhea can be done by drinking the decoction of Javanic acid, Javanese acid contains anthocyanins and tannins that have effectiveness not much different from non-steroidal anti prostaglandin group drugs in lowering pain by reducing muscle tension so as to lower muscle cramps in myometrium during menstruation. This study is aimed at knowing the influence of the decoction of Javanic acid on the intensity of dysmenorrhea of teenage girls in SMAN 1 Sukamulia.Methode of this research uses the pre-experimental design method (one group pre and post test design). The population of the study was 93 people. Sampling using simple random sampling techniques and obtained as many as 48 respondents, the analysis used is Wilcoxon test. Result In the Wilcoxon test results, the average value of the 1st day of the pretest was 3.10 and the value of the posttest was 2.92, the significance value of p was 0.039 (p <0.05), the average value of the 2nd day of the pretest was 2.39 and the value posttest 1.96 the significance value of p is 0.000 (p <0.05), and the average value of the 3rd day pretest is 1.60 and the posttest value is 1.10 the significance value is p which is 0.000 (p <0.05). Conclusen of this research is there is an influence of decoction of Javanic acid on the intensity of dysmenorrhea teenage girls in SMAN 1 Sukamulia
