THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SOCIAL ROLES AND THE INCIDENCE OF DEPRESSION IN THE ELDERLY IN BINTANG RINJANI VILLAGE
Abstract
The elderly are a group of people who are 60 years old or older, a person is said to be elderly if he is 60 years old or older, due to certain factors the elderly cannot meet their physical, spiritual and social needs. The elderly are also an age group in humans that have entered the final stage of the life phase, this group of the elderly will experience the aging process. This study aims to determine the relationship between social roles and the incidence of depression in the elderly in Bintang Rinjani Village. The methode of research used was an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach, a sample of 80 elderly people in Bintang Rinjani Village using random sampling techniques, data collection using social role questionnaires and DASS, data processing using spearman rank statistical tests. In the results of the spearman rank statistical test, the significance value was obtained a p value of 0.033 (p<0.05) there was a relationship between social roles and the incidence of depression in Bintang Rinjani Village.
