Abstract

In Central Java Province in 2018, 61.4% of family planning coverage was recorded, namely consisting of 31.6% using injections, 13.2% pills, 4.8% IUD/IUD, 2.8% implants, 1.3% condoms, vasectomy and 7.7% tubectomy. Meanwhile, Purbalingga Regency in 2014 achieved 66.8%. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between side effects and parity with the use of long-term contraceptive methods at Bukateja Public Health Center, Purbalingga Regency. This type of research is cross sectional. The population in this study were all family planning acceptors in the health of both mother and child Room of the Pagaden Barat Health Center, Purbalingga Regency in September 2019, totaling 120 acceptors. Bivariate analysis to test the hypothesis of this study is the Chi Square test analysis. The results of the study found that there was a relationship between side effects and the use of long-term contraceptive methods with a p-value of 0.047 and there was a relationship between parity and the use of long-term contraceptive methods with a p-value 0.001. Family planning acceptors are expected to be able to increase their knowledge about long-term contraceptive methods so that they can become an alternative choice for family planning.
