Abstract

The Silampari Khayangan Tinggi dance comes from the ancient Palembang language which means "lost" and the dance which comes from "peri" Khayangan means "air or sky" and Tinggi means "high". so it is called Silampari (angel who disappeared). the servant ponga dance is performed to welcome the great guest, accompanied by the presentation of tepak, which is a box-shaped place containing 5 main ingredients for embracing. tepak symbolizes honor to the great guest which contains betel, lime, Gambir, areca nut, and tobacco. This dance is performed by 7 women and one man. Sekapur Sirih is performed by one of the seven dancers, namely the tepak bearer with the accompanying man who presents betel to the dignified guests by walking slowly. The make-up in this dance uses corrective make-up and the clothing used is the bajurung brackets and a scarf is added on the shoulders as a characteristic of the Hemba Ponga dance and other accessories. This study aims to determine the concept of welcome dance space ponga in the development of welcome dance Silampari Khayangan Tinggi Lubuklinggau using a choreographic approach. The results of the choreographic analysis showed that the Silampari Kayangan Tinggi welcoming dance which lasted 7 minutes was then developed into the welcoming servant ponga dance which lasted 10.30 minutes. This dance has a simple movement motif and then developed into a more varied movement so that the Welcome Dance Ponga has special characteristics.
