Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in the creativity of PGPAUD STKIP Hamzar students in the subject of developing early childhood science learning using the guided inquiry learning model. This research is a classroom action research which consists of two cycles. The stages of the research started from planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The research subjects were 23 students of the early childhood education study program, STKIP Hamzar. Data collection techniques using tests, observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the N-gain formula to determine the increase in student creativity. The results showed that the guided inquiry learning model was proven to be able to increase student creativity in early childhood science learning development courses. The increase in creativity in this study can be seen in the average N-gain value of the creativity test. In cycle I N-gain student creativity test at 43 %, and increasing in cycle II 77% with the effective category. This is because every process carried out by students in the guided inquiry learning model supports to increase their creativity. Indicators of fluency creativity increased higher than the indicators of detailed thinking (elaboration) and original thinking (originality). Students can design early childhood science learning based on the results of their thoughts after conducting discussions and teaching practice through science experiments with their group mates.
