Nilai Harmoni dan Keadilan Berdasarkan Tradisi Sasi: Implementasi dalam Masyarakat Modern di Ambon Maluku

Abstract

The sasi tradition, as one of the local wisdom that is firmly rooted in the culture of the Maluku people, offers the values of harmony and justice that are relevant in community life. This article aims to analyze how the traditional values contained in sasi can be implemented in the context of modern society in Ambon, Maluku. With a qualitative approach, this research explores the meaning of harmony and justice in sasi, which is realized through collective rules to protect natural resources and regulate the social life of the community. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and related literature studies. The results of the study show that sasi is not only a mechanism for environmental conservation, but also a tool to build social equality in society. The value of harmony is reflected in community cooperation and respect for shared decisions, while the value of justice is seen in the equitable distribution of benefits, both for individuals and communities. In the modern era, the application of these values faces challenges in the form of the influence of globalization and changes in people's lifestyles. However, the integration of sasi in local policies shows its potential as a model of local wisdom that can support sustainable development. In conclusion, sasi offers an important lesson for modern society, particularly in creating a balance between individual and community interests. In addition, the implementation of the values of harmony and justice from the sasi tradition can be an inspiration in sustainable social and environmental management such as traditional villages and tourist villages. Recommendations are given to local governments and stakeholders to strengthen the preservation of these traditions as part of local cultural identity.
