Abstract
Improving literacy is a top priority in basic education, because literacy does not only include the ability to read and write, but also to understand, interpret, and use information critically. However, based on the 2018 PISA survey, the literacy skills of Indonesian students are still below the international average, including at SDN 246 Bulu-Bulu, which is located in a rural area. This study aims to identify the teaching strategies implemented at SDN 246 Bulu-Bulu in improving student literacy, as well as evaluating its effectiveness. reading assistance. The results of the study indicate that the literacy program at this school has a positive impact, although there are obstacles related to limited human resources. The study also identified supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of literacy.
